Risk Management and Insurance
Learn about risk identification, risk evaluation, and risk treatment methods. Consideration is given to both business and personal risks, with an emphasis on insurance as a risk management tool.
This fully online course is not for credit and counts toward completion of the Certified Financial Planner or Risk Management and Insurance certificate programs. You will have support and feedback from the instructor throughout the course.
Program Information
The W. A. Franke College of Business commits to helping finance professionals advance their careers in the finance industry through non-credit programs and professional paths. Beginning in the summer of 2022 NAU is offering a non-credit certificate in financial planning. This will allow you to complete the courses you need at a reduced rate. The program can be completed in 1 year.
You will receive a digital badge upon completion of this course.
Requirements to Practice as a CFP
There are additional requirements outside of the coursework provided by NAU to practice as a CFP® which include:
● Bachelor’s degree
● Complete CFP Board-approved coursework (NAU courses are board approved)
● Pass the CFP exam
● Complete 6,000 hours of professional experience related to the financial planning process or 4,000 hours of apprenticeship experience that meets additional requirements
● Experience may be gained before or after you take the CFP exam
